What is this kind of photo called? Collage?

    Five male members of the same family, not sure what it is called or how to market it? It is signed by the photographer? It is the Robinson family, they all died in the late 1800s but the picture is dated 1914. Thanks! I know NOTHING about photographs! photos.jpg photos1.jpg

    Looks like the individual images were (somehow) copied from earlier photo portraits, made relatively uniform in size and with the oval shadowing and then either printed on a single sheet to be mounted behind the mat or individually mounted on the backing in the correct spots. Collage sounds like the closest terminology to me, although @Figtree3 may know a different one.

    I "think" it (perhaps) could be/is called a "montage" (even if the photos are not "overlapping" inside the frame). ;)

    I knew there was a term that was used for our sorority ones, with individual portraits of each member, but couldn't think of it. Composite! Thanks, more other!
