WHAT IS THIS MILITARY? MASONS? WOOL CAP & MEDAL?

    Found this old wool cap - loos military to me. It has a miniature Chicago city police badge on one side & a interesting medal? of a military horse on a train - or a police horse?
    Can anyone tell me where the cap is from & what the medal? is for?

    It looks like an American Legion cap. Not sure about the badge.

    Quite possibly. My father, a Boston policeman and WWII veteran, was a member of a Legion post and marched with them in parades. It’s where they gathered to smoke, drink, play cards and remember the good old days.
