What is This Vessel-Shape Called, An' What is Its History?

My first exposure to the shape was in a Tavern near San Diego in 1963. Beer was served in it; it held a quart, an' was called a Schooner, an' sold for 60 cents a pop...I consumed perhaps more than my share, y'know?

This one holds a comfortable 10 (US fluid) ounces. 5 3/4" high, 3 1/4" rim diameter, 3 1/8" foot diameter. The bulge in the stem (is that correctly a knop?) is 1.2" diameter. The vessel weighs 12 1/2 ounces; it is not UV reactive.

The foot has considerable wear, but it's all in a very narrow ring at the OD of the concave base; hard to get a good pic. The foot an' bowl have indications of being blown, but there are no other craft-artifacts, including mold seams or pontil, to be seen on it. The rim is probably flame-smoothed, but it's not "Safe-Rim". The interior has a haze that doesn't yield to moderate cleaning methods an' materials. Pic 2 shows a bit of color, but it's not in the glass.

It's been stored for decades; I have no clue where or when I acquired it. I believe, after today's examination, it may have some age...but that's just a hunch. I'm eager to hear what y'all think about it. Thanks for lookin'!

I'd say its generic name is a goblet.

    "Schooner" is a legitimate name.
