Featured What is this?

    I found this metal spike in the forest today, and I'm curious if anyone has any ideas about what it may have been used for, how old it is, etc.
    It didn't appear to be machine made, and I guess it's not really a spike, unless the rest of it broke off.
    If it helps, I was in South Carolina in some pretty dense woods with no houses or anything nearby.
    If it's nothing special then that's fine, I just thought it was cool. I don't really know anything about identifying stuff like this, so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Maybe it's just some very old rebar from some long forgotten fence.
