Featured What kind of stone are these 2 little jars made from?

    I think these 2 little jars are made from some type of stone judging from how cold they feel. They are about 2" to the top of the handle & 2" across.

    Also where would they have been made?

    Would say onyx and likely Mexico.

    More properly 'onyx marble'. As verybrad said, Mexico, or possibly Italy.

    Just a note - Mexican onyx is of the travertine(calcite) variety and is not true onyx...which is a variety of chalcedony(quartz). In Italy and other places they call this alabaster.
