What kind of stone(?) is this stone statue of a dog?

    Can anyone tell me what kind of stone this is made of? It is cool to the touch & definitely porous - I tried magic eraser & nail polish remover to remove sharpie price on bottom but it didn't budge.
    It feels rough & it's heavy!
    Any help would be greatly appreciated (although I may keep this instead of selling it; it reminds me of my dog Frankie I lost a few months ago)

    And those ultra white spots and lines aren't part of the stone - looks like paint splatters. Is that what they seem to be?

    Look at back of ears. Flash may have been too bright but you should be able to see where someone chipped off pieces to make ears

    I think it's possibly a very weather worn molded composite statue.
