What period is this from and is it German Revival Gothic?

    Hi,

    This item was purchased at a French Auction but I've never seen this type of carving in any French piece.

    What is the market value in the U.S.?
    Also, what is it's origin?

    Any information would help.

    I think those who can give some thoughts on value (we don't do appraisals here) are going to need more information - particularly dimensions, pictures of interior construction, closeups for the exterior details.

    Beautiful piece! Could see this being French, Belgian, or English. German cabinets tend to be a bit more stoic, for lack of a better descriptor.

    Unfortunately, the market for such pieces is extremely soft right now. Think you would be very lucky to get $1000.00 at retail here in the US. Significantly less in smaller towns in the interior. Maybe a bit more in coastal areas or big cities.
