Featured What type of bowl is this?

    I picked up this bowl and i don't know anything about it. The material looks similar to crocks i have seen. No signatures or markings other than the fish on the inside.

    Does anyone have an idea of what this would be called?

    I was going to answer - It's a fish bowl;)

    However, I see you just joined and might not understand we like to joke around.

    Reminds me of Mexican pottery, but may really be a piece of studio pottery.

    We call it the fish bowl.

    It was a throw in when I bought a lot of stuff but seemed kind of old.

    Intriguing bowl, where did you find it? The material looks unusual, is it glazed?

    I bought it in the Ottawa area. It does seem to have a glaze on the inner surface and over the lip and handles. You can see it in the second picture where the colour changes.

    Welcome, @Pftp -- I don't know anything about it, and I hope you find out. For some reason I like dishes and bowls with fish motifs, so enjoyed reading your post.
