Bev aka thelmasstuff Colored pencil artist extraordinaire ;)

If it was for machine sewing and not hand sewing I'd say the container was for oil and not perfume.

this one has the identical pattern and colour with mine... and fabulous condition, but mine has only one scissor space though. This one sold for £1200 not sure if that includes BP

I checked many catalogue and usually they describe it as scent bottle...but if I'm buying such a bottle now I won't get the content in it so just aim for the bottle haha

A full set is always what your looking for, even if not original as most don't know what was put in there.
£1200 doesn't seem bad for what it is, nice find.

I had a rough browse on ebay and etsy, it's harder than I thought:hungover: The shape of these slots is made after a set already exists, so you have to find those with exact shapes that match the outlines! otherwise it will look wrong. Not to mention the price of a good set that worth a place in such a beautiful box lol

And 1200 is in auction so at least 3000 in antique store or 1stdib. Mine is a great deal as I got it from an online retailer.

Thanks to the owner who got the contents lost cuz otherwise I wont be able to afford it :joyful:

A lot of my day is devoted to researching and finding antiques, I know how you feel, I have found incomplete sets and managed to find missing items before but it takes time, don't expect them to be available within the week you buy the incomplete set.

I'm always a little cautious when it comes to valuations, I try and buy at half the price (or less) that I can find it anywhere on the internet. I don't look at auction prices because 1) you have to take into account the 20-25% commission and 2) you never know who knew what the item was, an example, one person might have bid too much or there weren't 2 bidders in the room to bid against each other. 1stdibs is a bad place to find a valuation, a far better place is https://www.sellingantiques.co.uk/ The dealers on there aren't charged ab fortune so prices are far more realistic.

I'm a cheapskate, I try and find places where sellers don't know what they are selling. I found 2 boxes in the last month both high value boxes 1 on ebay not in antiques and the other on Esty, the ebay box £300-400, I paid £15, the Esty box £900-1000 I paid £85 https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/147...how_sold_out_detail=1&ref=nla_listing_details

So lucky! But also requires good eye ;) my highest record is £100 for a horseshoe ring box usually priced at £300-400

It's a fair comment being lucky and having a good eye but also putting in the legwork. I must have looked at 20,000 lots, admittedly it only takes half a second to decide if it's good or not but I still put in a good amount of time.

    This hurts so bad.
Found a needle case at ebay auction, exactly matching shape and length.
    Lost the auction.:dead: 6.png

That's some needle case and that's some price as well. I didn't know these were so sort after. There is always one in the future you will win.
