Featured When you just "know" you've found something that's a valuable antique!

I think we've all been there. You go shopping, and you find something in a junk pile that you just KNOW is a find, even if you have no way to validate it at that moment.

What's been some of yours? My current one is the chair I posted this wknd. Another one of mine is a vintage violin I spotted and paid $10 for. I could tell immediately that it was a vintage violin from Italy. I sold it a month later for $500!!

I bought this the other day, it wasn't listed as it should have been. (Maybe a good quiz for people to guess what they think it should be listed as, date, place of manufacture. I won't say what I paid or what I think it's worth until later but I think I had a bargain.

The level of detail on that chair is amazing.

 

Any guesses then?

It's a Milanese walnut Savonarola chair, 1870-1880 I paid £*** on ebay I do have some other Milanese boxes of earlier date but couldn't resist this one when it came up locally.
