Where in CA might this be?

Oooooooh, Fig, what a find. Those old cards are amazing. I bet Pat is holding her photo and scanning those places as we speak... type.

The two postcards below are showing almost the same view of Lake Merritt as my photo.

Mansons, you were close... the cards seem to be saying that the view is across from Adams Point. Which makes sense to me, because Adams Point is parkland, and the other photos I have from the same day show different locations in what looks like a park. Plus, as I mentioned previously, someone wrote on the back that one of the photos was taken in an Oakland park.

The second postcard is dated 1907. Looks like a fair amount of development took place between then and when my photo was taken, circa 1920.

 

See! Like the rest of my life, I was BACKWARD...............I must have been in Adams Point, not looking at it...................sheesh............

But in my defense, I was there about four decades ago..............so PLEASE cut me some slack

 

I'm forever walking backwards... so lots of slack room allowed here!

I was being pretty cautious when I compared them to your photo, looking at foliage and the exact look of the buildings. Those are the ones that I thought looked a lot like yours, though. As you said, lots of development!
