   I have 2 matching necklaces, one smaller than the other, that are extremely light and feel like plastic but the clasp is 9 Kt gold? They both have some chips off the edges. The clasp on one has a 395 + 9k + what looks like a crown, the other has 395. How can I truly confirm this Whitby Jet and what year? Both together weigh 38 grams.

   Photos would help.
   One test for Jet is to draw a line with it on a piece of white printing paper.
   The line should be brown if Jet.
   
   Are you sure the numbers are not 375 which means 37.5% gold purity for 9k
