    Hi guys

I have this old "Marine" cap, which I bought i a thrift shop years ago.
After all these years I am still wondering what country and what era it was used in?
Inside was a rolled up German news paper to keep the cap in shape, dating 1957.
Is this a WW2 cap, I have seen comparable ones from the German army, but not with the writing "Marine".

Not sure but “Marine” in German = Marine in English, as opposed to Kriegsmarine = War Navy, but you Krauts out there, straighten me out. Maybe a souvenir bought for wearing on Navy Day in Hamburg or something. I did check for a past or present German warship named “Marine” and found nothing. Sry.

BTW the last straw for me on the Eboo ant board was either a pinkslap or suspension for using the term “Kraut” as the pink-think was that anyone of German ancestry would find that offensive. So bye bye pinkies!

Could very well be Dutch as well. I will contact some old friends to see if they can help you out. Attached picture is from 1971-1973 for example. The font makes me suspect yours is a bit older.

I'm pretty sure it's Dutch. Their navy gets over here a bit, and I've seen older caps.
