Back to the carved figure - I cannot find any examples of 2-person feline costumes anywhere except Asia. There are lion dances and costumes everywhere the Chinese went, and in neighboring countries including Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. There are also similar lion dance traditions in parts of India (Goa, Bihar and Sikkim).

But I think your carving may represent a Hakka lion from Taiwan. The papier mache head of a Hakka lion has distinctive square jaws, often without noticeable fangs, and a particular Chinese character on their forehead (which I think I see on your figure).

The costume is a more simple cloth drape, rather than furry, and the dancers' legs are more exposed. There is more variability in the patterns on the cloth, including stripes and spots. This is a still from a video about the Hakka tradition, which shows leopard spots -

They can be a bit much at times actually. I should probably incorporate an equalizer into my outfit. I don’t know a whole lot about dialing in stereo systems. Some small tweaks could be helpful.

If some nice 301’s had fallen in my lap I wouldn’t have sneezed at them. I do love the 901’s look on their stands though.

“When I was seventeen it was a very good year
It was a very good year for small town girls and soft summer nights

68 was a winner for sure!!!

Always wanted to make it to Vancouver Island. There was an internship I heard about on the island when I was young. The pay was barely enough for beer but you got to stay in a cabin on the island and your board was covered. The job was picking edible wild flowers I believe. Had romantic daydreams about that a lot when I was 21.

Reminds me of one of the great hallmarks of modern design-Knoll's Saarinen table.
