The egg is about an inch long and it's ceramic. The decoration looks hand done. I have a feeling the birdie impressed into the bottom of the metal pin holding the egg is a signature. Does anybody know who/what/where it came from?

Not a clue, but also assume the mark is for the maker of the whole piece, not just the head pin.

That's what I'm figuring. It may remain a mystery. This might be something Russian, given the area, but I may never know.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I thought Russian, too, but haven't found anything to prove or disprove that.

I've always been inclined to Chinese. This doesn't have the logo, but a lot of similarity in the egg:

A search for 'Chinese cloisonne egg pendant' turns up many of the general type. Substituting 'Russian' does less well. I'm sure there are many incorrect identifications in both camps, but flowers seem to be more common on eggs identified as Chinese than on Russian ones.

That's probably as close as I'll ever get. I'm going to list it as Russian, because that's probably close enough.
