Wicker? Rattan and wood penguin figure.

    Merry Christmas all.
    Any Idea where this guy came from and possible age?
    He is 8" tall
    His body is woven, beak,Wings, and feet are wood.
    The base is also woven with a wood frame.
    Any information would be helpful.

    I have seen many of these Chinese basketry animals. I believe they are made of finely split bamboo.

    I looked at those also. Most are baskets. Some animals, but they are baskets too.
