Hello. I'm hoping someone will have an idea of the value of this old dresser. Thank you.

Looks like a mass produced piece from 1900 give or take a decade. Cheap when new.Still worlds better than the crap you get today. These type of things dont seem to go for much $50-100 range at best.

Think the chest several decades earlier than the hardware, which is circa 1900. Maybe 1860 or so. A look at drawer construction should confirm. Looks like walnut. Either way, doesn't really change value but maybe a bit more than Johnny's estimate in some locations.

Not in my US Midwest market where even $200USD would be pushing it.

The replacement drawer pulls and the damaged top are going against your piece.
As for it "going" for $1000cad somewhere, what people ask and what they can actually get often greatly differ. Many people have an inflated sense of what their stuff is worth, or put "dream" price tags on their stuff hoping a sucker will come along.

The buyer didn't take it, due to being wider than he expected. Before she died, my mother made a point to tell me, on more than one occasion, that it was worth alot. I guess she was wrong. I do appreciate everyones input. Thank you.

in the 80's my Dad bought a small rug and a bent glass table..... he sheepishly told me he spent $1000.

today..... I'll never get that kind of money out of them both...
