    A couple of those photos look like it's grain is painted (the light areas) . Is that what you see?

    When I was in Nova Scotia, I found a place called Inklings in Wood. He found interesting wood and dried it out and created cremation urns amongst other things. This reminds me of one of his urns. https://www.inklingsinwood.com/

    Could be but I don’t see any resemblance with that Nova Scotia guy.

    I'm not thinking he was the artist, but when I visited his place in Maitland he gave me the grand tour. He had cremation urns in the same shape and style but yours looks older. He signs his pieces. I have a bowl.

    Maybe members with knowledge in furniture can give a suggestion?
    Also, I’ve never seen wood with so much splits.
