I know we had some of these on here fairly recently but I can't find the thread.
I remember they were old stirrups from South America(?)

Where do you think these were made, and how long ago? Thanks.

Could they possibly be Chilean? They make beautiful wooden ones. A lot of them are hand carved.

I got these with a bunch of stuff where I had to buy all or nothing. The woman said she paid a lot for them, and subsequently had a high price on them at her store, and they never sold. But I didn't ask what she paid, and I don't know if she knows anything about this kind of thing.
Therefore, I ask you, friends, so I don't try to sell a repro for too much, or I don't give a treasure away.

Only if you see it as written in English or one of its relatives.

Only the front part of the boot has to fit in, not the whole foot, so size question is whether they are wide enough for an adult foot.

Never paid attention to the size. I do have a couple of horses. My stirrups are a size 4.75". My husbands are 5". May not be the same sizing here but its an idea anyway.

@Bookahtoo, I think I'd say South American/Peruvian!! Here's a Google page full of 'em!!! Hope it all helps!!!:) Oh, and one of the sites somewhere said 1800's.......which they look to be anyway!
