    Years ago, we used to see a lot for sale in the UK then like a lot of items, they slowly got scarcer and scarcer. The last one I sold, many years agowas £10, now a lot more expensive. I believe they started issuing them at the beginning of the WWII, but soon stopped as it was not good for morale. Is that correct Davey?

    No only WWI.
    They go for around £50-£70 now, even more if the recipients medals are present.
    incidentally, it says "He Died"
    If you find one with "She Died" (only 600 issued) they fetch £1600 and an extra £800 if the Parchment Scroll is present.

    I had my great uncle's death plaque: sailor, drowned, no grave of course. It's gone to my cousin's son, who is rather the custodian of family history.
