These pics are all I can manage with flash, and the last one is poor. Tomorrow, in the sunshine, I will do better on the close-up of the mark. But I don't own this pin, and must return it to the jeweler later in the day...so really wanted to share it tonight before I hit the sack.

The mark has 2 parts: above is a shield having crenellations...3 merlons & 2 crenels. Within that shield is the letter T, with serifs...below is 925, with the additional letter S at the end.

The jeweler is pretty sharp...but could not make the mark, at all. He cautioned me not to fall in love with this pin, until the maker could be determined with certainty. Upon that occurrence, he would assign a price for my purchase or rejection.

Please help me with this puzzle...I have already fallen, hard, in love with the bird...it'll be a birthday present for my Sweet Hilde, in August...if I can afford his price. Again, better pics will be posted here on the morrow. Thanks, y'all!

    Here you go ...

    N.M. Thune - Oslo
founded in 1857 by Nilius Martinius Thune (1831-90) who over the business of goldsmith FJ Brinck in Kristiania. During the first half of the 20th century, NM Thune was one of the dominant goldsmith companies of the country. In the 1950s and especially in the 1960s, interest in corpus works decreased. Thune therefore increasingly focused on cheaper enamel jewelery mainly intended for a younger audience and the tourist and export market. In 1982, NM Thune was sold out by the family and bought by Olav Thon and later by Erling Bjerke.

It is gorgeous, whit. Classic Norwegian enamel, possibly the best in the world.
If the asking price is too high, buy the ebay double one for your Hilde.;)
Kristiania is now called Oslo, the capital of Norway.

I can see why you fell in love with it. I do like the single better than the double however. And should be 1/2 the price right!

    Another Lightning Strike, RT...Thank you!

I've purchased the eBay double; the listing stated damage to a wing, which wasn't well shown in the pics...but the price was a right.

He wouldn't put a price on it...he knows his business, an' he knows me well enough. He usually treats me well...I'm not afraid.

I just checked, it mentioned a flaw, rather than damage. Now that I know, I do see the flaw, it looks like a trick of the light. But it is not actual damage, and you probably don't notice it in real life.

I saw that, an' came to the same conclusion, AJ. And yes...my use of 'damage' was inaccurate; driving by on a bicycle you'd never notice it.

My first reaction was "pretty birdie" and then "pretty Norwegian birdie". Then..somebody found a good one.
