It is 14" with a brass barrel clasp. The beads are not shaped exactly the same and have hand painting on them. It's possible that some of paint has worn off but I'm not sure. I haven't tested the beads to determine if they are glass or ceramic but due to their irregularity I think they may have been hand made. One of the pictures (4th one) shows a bead that has broken away from its spacer so the interior can been seen. What say the experts? Thanks. Resize 1.JPG

    Maybe from India?

India was my first thought but I did a search for hand painted beads made in India and didn't find anything remotely similar.

I used to have a necklace of handpainted beads which my father bought in India in the 60s. It was a pastel colour, but the colour of your beads is also much used in India.

It definitely has an India vibe to me so maybe I'm not using the correct search terms. I'll keep trying. Thanks Any Jewelry. I always appreciate your thoughts and knowledge.

I had a quick look at this earlier. It does look ceramic and I'd agree on India too. Those brass spacers.

Thanks Owned. I feel like my instincts have been validated. How old do you think it is?

I'd think sixties, which ties in with AJ's one.
