    hi folks

found this vase yesterday, im sure i remember seeing the design before as christopher dresser

anyone know if these things were reproduced, or is this an early watcombe vase

    measures 9 inches, no damage

i find it on the tacky side, but thought it was worth a stab

    any thoughts appreciated

It isn't Dresser, but it's a nice thing. I've lost the plot on who did this neo classical stuff.

Could be Watcombe, but others made those too.

I don’t know much about these, but, I do think it’s pretty, very visually pleasing with the contrast in colors❤️

Thanks maven, it's quite close to being tacky, more brave than anything, with those colours :)

I've honestly not seen these ascribed to Dresser, but I'll go hunt some books out.

This is one I own: if we can find a geniune attribution, I'll be a happy camper. 25. Mid 19th C Prattware lidded jar.jpg

@charlie cheswick Sometimes tacky, if strategically placed in a room of contemporary & blended in, can look good, but used very sparingly of course. ❤️

Yeah, be good to see some factual proof

I can remember seeing it on a website that showed all his different types of designs

This is another one with a supposed attribution, different border

I'll stick with my original call, Watcombe Torquay ...The design is attr to Dr. Dresser here and there, but a lot of aesthetic stuff is, so why not - everyone else says it is so why not you?;)
