Thank you to everyone who has been so kind teaching me the proper ways of posting!! I posted this before but now that I have learned the ways of the “full image” here it is again. This is a 10” Noritake dinner plate - all I know about it is that the nature of the mark dates it between 1911 and 1920ish. It’s heavy as all get out - the gold on it is more encrusted than on other plates I have seen. It’s been in storage and is in perfect condition. I would love to know the pattern or if it’s part of a larger set that I should be searching for. Everything I post is part of my grandfathers collection from his antique shop. Much has been in storage since his passing a number of years ago. It look 3 years to get through the stamps and coins - so we are just looking into the glass/China/figurines now. Thanks!

This post with embedded photos might get more attention, but the thread title won't attract anyone scanning the board for things they know about. The first thread you started with "Noritake Emerald and gold dinner plate" as the title was definitely better from that point of view.

Maybe a moderator will tidy this up for you. In general, try giving people a little longer. Members are spread across numerous time zones and not 20 hours have passed since your first post.

    Ummmmm...........if I may...two more helpful tips...???

    1. one thread about an item is all we need....a 2nd thread can be confusing should folks reply to one and not the other...
    2. The title....should contain something about the item.....so finding it a week...or month later ...with new information is possible....

    Help me please
    I need info
    I'm new here
    What is this thing

stuff like that make it all but impossible to search and find an item...later on..

    Just sayin.......;)..:(

Roger that! I will delete this thread then and leave the original. I had only hoped to include the better pics in this one now that I know to post larger images. This is all good stuff! Thanks.

Nice pieces. I think they date to c1926-1940

They were probably part of a service.

Thank you John. Part of the problem I am having is without a pattern I am having a very hard time knowing what exactly to search on eBay. I can’t find anything that matches the description of how this looks.

It’s the wrong way round in the photo. The pattern is a pagoda and trees. Have you searched for that?

I have tried several searches invoking pagoda and trees as well as temple and trees gold and emerald - I can find similar plates with gold and emerald colours, but they all lack the centre pattern. Could that be an indication of a fake, perhaps?

I did Deborah and it came back unknown! All the pieces I am posting are the ones that they could not identify.

In addition to Replacements, Noritake recommends three other companies for identifying/appraising their china. You might want to check them as well.

You won't be able to do that -- and now that you've got useful replies here you wouldn't want to anyway.

What you could try is clicking "Report" in your own initial post above and asking if the mods can (i) amend this thread's title and/or (ii) merge your threads on this plate. I don't know exactly what the forum software allows, but I'm sure they'll be able to improve on the current situation (replies about one object in three threads).
