    1. I never offer an amount, even when they tell me to.
    2. I always ask "how much" and if it's a bit much, I ask if that's their best price (cash at places they take credit cards, checks, etc.)
    3. If it's too much, I thank them then politely say "it's very nice, but it's over my budget." I don't burn bridges with sellers unless they are nasty or dishonest...in that case, it's scorched earth.

Yes it is signed. Did not even bother to look when I picked it up. Just knew it is a nice piece. Think I bought 5 pieces that day.

I did not. Is that a thing? I was attracted to the green stones and the picture is pretty true to life. I took a different picture on a white background and the colors did not come out right at all.

Looking at some of the prices on ebay for similar, I probably could have gotten more for it. I did research it before selling and priced it to sell locally. I am happy with the price and who knows how long it would have taken to sell, had I priced it higher.

Some green or orange rhinestones will glow like beacons under blacklight. Some yellowy-white ones too, aka custard glass. (real rubies and amber often glow too, but that's another game.) Glass that glows under blacklight sells at a premium. If they're inert...hey, Eisenberg!

I have told this story before, but I have my Barbie with that same swimsuit but she has the bubble hair.

I have a lot of bubblecuts. The raven black haired ones and the redheads are my favorites. I fo have one lemon blonde I love. Most of the platinum bubbles hair has oxidized, turning it darker. I will take a picture of some I have on display. I want to get a tall glass cabinet to display them all, but I have an old house with small rooms, and with my curio in the living room, it's hard to find space.

I never had a Barbie doll as a kid. As an adult a good friend bought me a hello kitty Barbie.

Here's a find. I had given this to a friend years ago to have one of her relative's repair it. It was mislaid in the mists of time and she just found it recently and returned it. (It didn't actually need any repair.) It is an ebay purchase from yonks ago. I think I paid $13 for it. So strange with the rhinestone cover over the watch face. And it is too small for many wrists -- just about 6" (15cm) closed. No marks other than what's on the watch face. It keeps good time. A found curiosity! Some goodies I have gotten over the last couple of months...

Fenton blue opalescent hobnail vase and a Fenton blue satin glass poppy rose bowl, both from the local swap shop :)

    FentonGlass.jpg

Set of 4 Minton gold encrusted etch border wine glasses with a flower basket etch on the body. The flower basket etch is only IDed as unknown so I don't have a maker.

    GEE_EthcedStems.jpg

Depression era pink ice bucket (need to work on the handle) from the swap shop and a sweet, vintage, Czech, cut glass perfume bottle, the dauber is intact. Found this for all of $1 at my local flea market!

    PinkGlass.jpg

A beautiful Whiting and Davis 1920s flapper purse, in great shape with the lining intact!

    But wait - there's more!

The purse above and all the following jewelry I got at a house call...

Bracelets, all costume and OK except the sweet carved bakelite bracelet on the top right :)

    Bracelets.jpg

Assorted silver pieces, the best is the Victorian Tussie Mussy to the left of the kitty pin.

    SilverJools.jpg

    Assorted clip earrings.

    ClipEarrings.jpg

Brass multi strand; Trifiai pearl, rhinestone, goldtone; and blue rhinestone necklaces.

    Necklaces.jpg

And finally, many pins, one pre 1955 Trifari, a nice Boucher flower pin and a nice Art Deco dress clip. I have a few more but they need repairs so I didn't photograph them.

You cleaned house! I hope to get to an estate sale in the morning and do likewise. The early 50s blue rhinestone is a winner. It and the earrings are begging for a Dior New Look cocktail dress.

That bracelet with the polished stones is right up my alley! And I think my rhinestone watch would be a great accompaniment to some of the bling, LOL!

Was in Sidney yesterday visiting with friends from out of town and we stopped in a thrift just for fun. Found this antique mug with the popular Indian Tree decoration. It's 3" (7cm) tall so kiddie sized. Many of these mugs were made by Coalport and unmarked. This one may be Coalport, but the only gilding is on the handle. The rim and base lines are a sort of ochre brown, so I'll just say Staffordshire. c.1860. I got my senior's discount, so grand total with taxes was $2.12 CAD. I only mention the price because I simply couldn't leave it there. I am going to gift it to a friend. IMG_20260418_105122_(946_x_999_pixel).jpg

For two bucks, it was a no-brainer.

And if it's up the friend's alley, it becomes worth even more!!

I found an autographed sports item for like $25, and gave it to my father for Xmas. You would have thought I just handed him $1MM.
