My wife's family has had this handed down for four generations. It has been in storage for much of it and no one wants to keep it. We would like to sell it and the record collection.

Sadly, it does not work and some of the indexing storage is broken as well. We think two of three coils' springs shown in a photo are broken. We have several unused needles for it as well.

The records are in great shape with hardly any scratches. Where could I find more info on the value of each record? Would there be a way to repair the coils that rotate the turntable?

Please don’t mess with the springs they can literally be lethal! Record prices are on line - try asking Google using the records names ( you can even give a list of names). And verify before selling but it’s a great head start.

For the records, you can go to eBay's Completed listings to get an idea of where collector interest lies. Some great cover art but, at a glance, nothing that sticks out as particularly valuable.

You will be needing 3 mainsprings, each costing about $40 plus shipping. Not an easy job if it's your first time.

If it was not damaged and if it worked, you might get $200+. As it stands its a parts machine. Hopefully you're in an area dense with enthusiasts. Ask $100 because it's oak, offer it with the records and take anything over $50. If asked, don't get detailed about it, it just does not work.

About the records. If the sets have the records that belong to the set, I see nothing of value. Do check the loose records in the box. Maybe there's real jazz or real blues in there.

I agree, they are not worth much of anything these days. There is still a market for the higher end machines, but not what it was. This is one of the better ones I kept.

Nice, your VV-XVIII is very a desirable style in the Victor Victrola line. :headphone:

Beautiful, rare piece. Stanton's Auctioneers is the best for selling quality items.
They usually run two huge three day auctions a year and travel for items. We've gone to their auctions for years. They get top dollar, sell the auctions online and onsite. Located in West Michigan. I think we currently have over 100 related items in our store that we've purchased at their auctions.

We have no affiliation or working agreement with them. They're good folks.
