    He looks so familiar.
I was thinking movie star, but maybe:
    A Dickens character?
    Cartoon character?

I agree! He has that "I know him" look. Makes me think about what a lot of characters may have been based off of as well.

I think he is reminding me of Jimmy Stewart (ears, nose, eyebrows), but surely not who chalk guy is.

Ah, we meet again! As I noted on Facebook. It's an evil leprechaun. It will come alive at night and eat you. You need a four leaf clover to kill it. I would handle the job myself but my monster slaying days are far behind me!

Those buck teeth remind me of the Mad Hatter

Hahaha!! Wonderful to see you here! I've only found a four leave clover once in my life. And I failed to keep it for this moment. I'm doomed! :D

Reminds me of the carnival guy in Pinocchio, when the boys are turned into donkeys. ;)

I'm loving the fact that I'm running into some of you on a couple of pages. Here's an illustration I showed elsewhere. I think he looks like a caricature of this guy, too.

It's enjoyable to read what everyone sees in him. Someone will say, "He looks like .." and I'll think to myself, "He does!" The ideas of his image seem to be endless and I love it!

Does he seem to be "baked" to you? He does to me both by sight and feel. Then painted. Anyway, it's throwing me off. Chalkware was not normally baked and, therefore, baking doesn't fit the normal mold (goofy pun intended :p). I did find a small quote somewhere that said some early pieces were baked but the method was discontinued for some reason. In that same article it also talked about them being painted with oil based paints. I didn't save the article and now I regret it because I can't find it again.

Thank you so much for the compliment on the photos! LOL, I think everyone feels the same way about his familiarity! If we could just crack open those rusty old file cabinets in our brains. :wacky:

No, really, darkish green with goldish brown flecks. It happens, I occasionally see someone else with that colour combination, usually from the eastern Mediterranean. When I was in Rome a Sicilian restauranteur gave me a personalized free meal because he said my eyes were Sicilian eyes, which reminded him of home.
Must have been some kind of bargain deal when I was born, I was the only one in the family.
