Absolutely wonderful! What a thrilling find. I have a small piece of Hetain Jade sculpture and it is one of my greatest treasures!

 

Yes, once you've seen and handled Hetian/Khotan jade in real life, you get what the fuss is about. It is magic, the most beautiful nephrite there is.
I have a few Hetian/Khotan jade snuff bottles.

Hetian/Khotan is in Sinkiang, Uygur country.
Hetian is the Chinese name, Khotan is the old East Persian name, which is still used by the Uygur people of the region.

 

I hope one day to find something as lovely as this...

Sadly I don't think it has. It's well carved yeah, but doesn't have any charm In my opinion

Charlie asked me to show my Hetian Jade piece. If you run across something with those brown parts, I think that is a clue.

don't get me wrong buddy, im more than pleased with it, i think its just the style in which the horses are carved /portrayed that makes me think its newer

Russet parts are certainly a bonus when it comes to nephrite jade, collectors love it. Russet can occur on nephrite from other locations too, and it is always appreciated.

And I have some pristine white, celadon, and imperial green Hetian/Khotan pieces that are recogized as genuine Hetian/Khotan. It depends on the pebble it was cut from, and which part of the pebble.
