Jimmy is used in Scotland like the English and Aussie 'mate'. You hear it a lot in Scotland. Often pronounced as Jammah, or something like it.
Probably because you don't focus on jewellery. I do, and have been to Scotland visiting relatives countless times, drooling over the (antique) jewellery shops every time.

Some Scottish beauties that are neither Celtic crosses nor Charles Rennie Mackintosh inspired:

Very unlikely, since Connemara is in Ireland.:playful:
I am not betting, I know it is Connemara marble. As I said in post #4:
But as I said in post #7, it is more difficult to say for sure when it comes to jewellery. That said, Connemara marble is always Irish of course, just like Carrara marble is always Italian.:D

Oh man! I need to be put out to pasture now, LOL! Of all the time I've spent in Scotland, I've never heard "Jimmy." But I'll be on the trail this September as I'll be in Scotland for about a week. Eh, Jimmy? :hilarious: OK, yes, AJ, I'm a pottie, and I totally forgot about all the agates and polished stone jewelery, some of which it truly lovely. I have a rock tumbler and have polished some local beachcombing finds -- haven't polished any for years lately.

Ah maybe not many people called you Jimmy. It's usually reserved for male company.
