Featured Couple unmarked Dala painted horses

Awww - it's Judy's Nisse party! So cute, and love your Dala horse ornaments - the horses are another of my 'casual' collections, pick them up when I find them cheap, like them too much to sell them...

I have 7 of them - one for each of our trips to Sweden. . They are in a display case all year long

 

I sell them pretty quick. I found the blue one at G/W for a dollar I think. The other two just the other day for 1.99 each.

 

I just remembered that there are some from Mexico.......so do be careful.

What you see, is based on what you know!! This saying has saved me a lot of money by not buying something that looks right, but I know little or nothing about. Since I know nothing about Dala painted horses, they look similar to items from Mexico. I learn something every morning by following this site.

 

The roosters especially are found more often than the horses.

I know about the similar ones from Mexico, because other people have found them and thought that they were dalas and alerted me to them.

The quality is much different if you have them to compare.

But you are correct, it is what you know.........I don't know much else, but I do know if they are Swedish or not.....so far anyway.
