Well maybe not in this case

 

every night the cat I grew up with would sit on my chest in bed,,,,,and purr.....until he was sure I was safe ......they he'd make his rounds of the house ......before bedding down at the top of the staircase !

Feral cats have a very foreshortened life span. Unneutered males about two years. Many people believe as you do, but I don't agree. Mine do get to go camping with me though.

I wonder know if that's what they do, as they don't sleep on your chest, it is as you say, it's like they are guarding

well.......it;s their home.....and their family.......

Puss-Cat would always sleep with my wife......until I came to bed.....and no matter how much room I gave him......within 5 minutes....he'd be gone to sleep just outside our room..

 

They think they are for sure. They love rolling in the dirt though.

 

They think they should always be out camping. You should see them hiking with me. They love racing around, drinking running water and chasing critters.
