Heyyy I have a strand of the pastel ones that my mother picked up in her childhood and now I know what they are. Thanks! :)

Welcome. I love those beads - rescue them whenever I find some.

Love the Atlas glass and the roses. How have those survived undamaged?!
I agree, we need to see them now they are scrubbed up.

I have always related the frosted glass beads with Czeckoslovakia. Here they can be found often, I think all Czech. Japanese from 1950s is highly improbable here.
I don't see difference between OBBs photos and my items. I mean that they look very similar, Japanese and Czech, at least to me.
Later I will post my today's find of frosted (or satin ??) glass necklace.
I also like them very much and buy them whenever I find.

Here are my today's beads, most probably Czech. Now I see the difference with OBBs necklace, the beads are quite similar but the chain elements and metal findings are different.

The color is different too. The Asian beads' colors remind me of old-school rice candies. These are more of a natural caramel.

Thank you, OBB! This type of glass is my favourite.
Indeed. Now as you pointed it, I see the difference.

I tihnk this points to a difference in tastes of colour palettes. Japan is very fond of pretty pastel colours, whilst older Czech stones tend to be deep rich colours, especially gold and amber stones.
