Totally guessing but unless there's quite a few years of changing style in-between these, they look like different artists to me. I much, much prefer yours.

 

Yes perhaps, I did notice some other pieces that appears even closer to this style. It appears like he tried many artistic styles throughout his career though.

Still not close to the style of your piece. I am an artist of many styles, and know others who do same and many things carry through in an artist's influences and skills (unless they're trained to mimic). This artist's view (in these pieces) of how to abstract the human body and features is not the same.

 

That's definitely a misattributed piece by Jean Baptiste Valadie.
