I don't pretend to know much about stopwatches, so I'm trying to learn the basics of WWII German Navy items because this thread has gotten me interested. I listen politely when others make assertions unaccompanied by proof, but I'm always interested to see documentation. Looking at a few watch forums, one mentioned the German military technical manual on their clocks and watches, which I found partially on the web:

    http://www.vintage-time.de/index.php/Attachment/4572-Dienstanweisung-kriegsmarine-pdf/

As far as stopwatches used aboard U-boats, the book says they all come from Junghans, and don't mention Heuer as the source of any Navy watches. That's interesting.

In searches after I guessed its use I saw the same...

Also from the watch forums, I saw a discussion of Kriegsmarine torpedo-timer watches, and the Junghans 29a movement was mentioned as what was in the watch pictured below as a "torpedo timer." Notice that the dials are graduated differently from the Heuer. I'm still learning, there seems to be a great deal of info on the web but it doesn't all agree.

Don`t forget it was not only U-Boats that were armed with torpedo.
E-boat or in German; Schnellboot or S-Boot meaning Fast Boat and Elbing class torpedo boats which were comparable in size to destroyers, Flottentorpedoboot (Fleet torpedo boats)
Thanks Spring that is the first other watch I`ve seen like this one here.

Yes, the tech manual linked above gives the number of stopwatches allowed for each class of German warship. Battleships get 6 down to fishing trawlers which get one. I can't see a distinction between types of stopwatches issued to various ships, there are only two types described in the manual, both graduated to 1/5 second, but one has 1/100 minute also apparently. The first mentioned is denoted "e" and is very widely issued. I didn't see anywhere that the second type, denoted "f" was used. ???? Now I go back to the pix to see what has 1/5 sec. Grads.

For anyone interested or who owns one of these, there's some very interesting info in both the description and photos of this ad. Seller gives the reference book for these, and the last photos are the pages of the Junghans manual. It gives the differences between the five different model 108 variants, two of which were mentioned using "108" in the tech manual, but it went over my head at the time.

Great to get an ID... and potential market as well.

How can the watch you show be WWI with a Nazi swastika on the back?

I think your corespondent was saying he wants one like your friend's.

The watch I showed is WW2, the collector from Austria collects WW2, all the watches Spring shows are WW2.
    KoT showed a WW1 watch.
