Featured Locket/Watchcase - Continue or Not

It was very grimy. I stopped after a while and decided to ask about continuing.

 

Looks vintage 1960s to me.

Repurposed watch cases can be very nice, I've had my Mom's old 14K Hamilton wristwatch, the works long ago deemed beyond repair, set aside for a pendant for ages, pondering on what I want to do - but have to say some are just not done well...

I was hoping for something like your mother's and those pieces on google. I just briefly looked at it at the time of purchase, as I was off to a class at the gym. Once I came home and looked at it more carefully, I thought I might have made a mistake. That's why I asked. I appreciate your forbearance.
