    I think one of the reasons she's been so hard to identify is the little... how shall we say... "facelift "she had in what I still believe to be the 1950s, the repainting with crimson lips and nails as well as the addition of the tole floral candelabra. At the risk of incurring wrath, I continue to think Italian.

    looks like they were carved, like carousel horses and painted different colors.....;

    maybe some one did not want coloured folk in their home....and had one painted...or repainted .....but couldn't change the nappy hair.......or those dark eyes...

    cuz that white gal........just creeps me out !!!!
