There is no way to delete a post. Just to edit.

Which is sometimes the explanation for why you'll see a post that's just a "." or "..."

Or you may see a paragraph of completely unrelated drivel because the poster has forgotten what he originally wished to say and is now going off on a tangent, rambling on almost incoherently, muddling thoughts and subjects as the poster wonders how in the helk to end a post without looking a complete fool, while still wishing today were still Sunday so they could have cinnamon and brown sugar toast again instead of having to wait until next Sunday because that is what will power is all about and they just can't exit gracefully.......

Or at least I am TOLD that sometimes happens...............

All I heard was "cinnamon and brown sugar toast."

I have a 7’ tall Chinese landscape watercolor scroll. I have a contact from Shanghai who helps me interpret markings. But he won’t be in town until end of august. I sent him a picture and he said that it is stunning and at least 100 years old. Not a famous artist but great.

If I post it on the art forums will anyone be able to interpret the writing for me? And the many red stamps?

Depends on the piece (some are easier to read than others -- or so I understand) and who is around.

I didn’t want to bother everyone if there aren’t any folks familiar.

There are/have been a number of familiar folks, but no telling who is available at any given time.

I can tell you that I don't know of anyone here who is bothered by any serious inquiry. Ever.

Even when we don't know, most of us are all "bring more stuff!" :joyful:

Please post it, we'd love to see it, and we can tag the person of the 'read Chinese' crowd we last saw on the forum.

Please be certain to start a new thread in the appropriate category within the forum and be sure to include any pertinent data in the title to "catch" the correct eyes. Not everyone reads everything, particularly if it is a subject in which they have little to no interest or knowledge.

I tried using the google translate app, where you take a picture and it detects the language etc

It is definitely Chinese but when I used the app I got all kinds of words. Like “God farts”. Well.....
