These are Old Block Island postcards, before cars got there (except for the 1930's one)....when fishing was pretty much their main industry.....and I clean up what I put on my computer.....I don't touch the originals!!! And the two narrow ones are like 12" and 13" long postcards!! Rolled up! All are of the then and still now, downtown area. Just, NOW, there's a nice paved road and more distance between the ocean and roadway!!!!!

    Those are nice.

That first one looks like there's an excursion boat (or is it just a ferry). Lots of people lined up for it. Where would it be going?

Today ferries to Block Island leave from Newport, RI, Port Judith, RI and Fall River, MA. I would not be surprised if there there was a ferry out of New London, CT.

It looks like half the population is either coming or going on that one.

(Looks to me like they're arriving. Explains all the waiting carriages. Maybe weekenders or summer people?)

Sooooo, the 11" one is meant to be folded once, the 17" one meant to be folded three times and the 23" one (which I will post soon....is meant to be folded four times!!! They ALL have the exact same writing on the back and look to be printed in Germany!! Not that I have any intention of selling them, but wonder what the value might be......guess I just might have to do some research!!!!

Edit again: Here's the Looong one!

Now this one is in really poor condition but since it is a postcard and I collect postcards AND it is political and I collect political so I could not leave it behind. Oh and it was only $1 so that made my decision a lot easier.

This one intrigues me. Who were they and where were they going? I assume the focus of the photograph is meant to be the three children - it's a pity they are blurred :(

@KingofThings ....once again (oi vei!!!) I was on the Library of Congress images site looking for 22 inch long postcards (checking rarity....they have quite a few!), but came across this below image if you want it (or don't have it!!....I can also tidy it up a bit if you'd like since I love playing with my Photoshop...just let me know!!) BTW....I think as I put in the border...it shows to be 19 5/8" long!!!
