    Yes! The point is removed. And when you look down into the middle of the stone, you can see the flat bottom facet. This is the signature of an Old European or Old Mine cut.

    The smaller culet was used during a transition period between Old European and modern.Today's modern brilliant stones come to a point and do not have a culet.

    Ah, I get it now. So the culet is the flat bottom where the pointy bit has been cut off, not the point itself?. Sorry that was like trying to explain the Big Bang to my dog wasn't it.:hilarious:

    Found an idiots guide to culets. Even my dog gets it now.
