I have just noticed this post.
I have an interesting plated box that I purchased in Madrid
I have been trying to identify the marks on the Napoleon plaque on the lid.
Does this mark come in to the Louis Rault category?

There are also engraved marks on the 4 corners under the box,Febrero,1928,Felipe Toris. F.Jaureugui on tag on lid.

I feel It may have been made in Argentina.

I'm confused about the marks and their locations as you didn't post photographs but... You do know that the bust of Napoloen is by E. Seurre. This napkin ring appears to have the same star motif as your box.

Many thanks for the image of the napkin ring, unfortunately i cannot enlarge image to see mark, looks like my image.
The name on the second photo F .Jauregui. Came up as a railway station in Argentina. So maybe an Argentinian name.

The letters look like L with Q or O with line ,which I thought used to be symbol for female.

It seems that Seurre did a sculpture in the round of Napoleon, which others have followed to make Napoleon in other forms, so monogram is maker of medallion, but it is not Rault's mark.

Jauregui is a Basque name. It wlll be found in Spain, throughout Latin America and even in the parts of the U.S. where there are sheep.

So from photographs we see that "Febrero," "1928," "Felipe," and "Toris" were added after manufacture and are likely information associated with an owner.

Where in Madrid did you buy your box? And how do you know it's silverplate? Any markings?

Are you certain that's "Toris" and not "Joris?" (A much more common surname.)

I bought it at the Rastro market ,it was an amazing market early in the morning,it seem to go on for ever,great atmosphere.
no marks,There is a scratch on the top showing some brass background it is silver plated ,I feel the name on base may be the maker, and it may be a one off.
I bought it because of the shape ,and I felt it has some interesting features.

I feel it is not always necessary to by super expensive boxes. yes it looks like Toris
looked like Paris but it is Toris, would be great to track down maker.

The mark on the napkin ring seems to be the same as yours. Seller describes it as "There is also a mark in front of the bust which LOOKs LIKE CL INTERTWINED."
