Google translate shows the word knyppla [Swedish] to mean make lace. It does not specify how a particular type lace is made. In Swedish the word was always knyppla, and knyppling for lace making with bobins.

 

I collected handmade lace doilies many years ago. Mounted them against blue background fabric in guilded and white antiqued frames covering a large wall.
