    Just get @Marie Forjan to give you a nudge :angelic:. I'll let you know how I get on. As a true amateur it will be a good test as to how straightforward it is. Unfortunately I won't know any better if it tells me porkies!

    Sure, there are plenty... But that can be narrow down!
    Lots are easily recognizable, and lots will not be encountered in usual jewellery pieces:joyful:
    It is like using a GPS, it is still useful to keep an eye on the direction signs :smuggrin:

    At least I will have a fair idea of what it isn’t even if I can’t pin point what it is. That decision will be placed before the assembled wise ones of the forum!
    Edit- those brown opals are stunning- I can wish for some of those!

    One thing KSW, make sure the gem you are testing is clean, built up gunk can give a false reading :wideyed:
