    Ahhh, for added stability - maybe brass washers (or stainless steel if silver handles), perhaps even paired with nylon washers for a bit of surface protection and grip. Was envisioning heavy steel washers, not attractive, hard on the porcelain, and prone to rust...

    Are you drilling a small hole first with a ceramic drill, and then following with the diamond saw blade? If not how are you achieving accuracy in placing it at the centre of the plate?
