found this vintage boy scouts knife at a boot sale in a tool box

no hope of selling it, but would like to clean it up anyways

seem to be a 1950s sheffield steel william rodgers 4" inch blade

ive tried the baking soda paste method which got rid of any rust

anyone know how to get rid of the stubborn black on the blade, without scratching it up

any idea if these things have much collectability ?

    any thoughts appreciated
