When I do that I only find the recent Friesian clocks that were already mentioned. Those are not reproductions and certainly no fakes. They are the traditional ones that have been made in the Netherlands, they are just not antique:
It is just like Delft, clog making, and any other traditional Dutch craft.

We lotted it as what it is.. just didn't try and date it (antique vs Vintage)
The buyer can make their own mind up I guess

Excellent point Any Jewelry. I hadn't thought of it in the proper context.

I must say, that is easier for me here in the Netherlands. I see living Dutch tradition around me all the time. We have tradition next to, even incorporated in, modern design, a joy to see.

Prefaced by saying I know nothing about these clocks.....but as a general opinion on fakes/reproductions: I am of the opinion that there is no limit whatsoever to fakery or reproductions.
Just my opinion: there are no items so obscure that they cannot or will not be faked, or that a third-world manufacturer might see a photo, and find it profitable to make new items in a similar style.
Some of these are not intended to be fakes, or sold to deceive, just modern décor "in the style of;" others are undoubtedly intended to deceive.
Just a few examples: bone fetishes, which can be sold for $1 to the bead trade, are made in the style of NW coast artifacts, and can be sold for hundreds of dollars by the unscrupulous. Some would say it is not profitable to fake a $1 item - not true; or that it is not profitable to make bone items by hand and sell them for $1.
Vintage mason jars have been widely reproduced.
Antique Chinese locks and oriental fabric. Wooden shoes. Lampshades. Quilts. Rugs. Postcards. Carnival glass.
The bone figure in the thread at https://www.antiquers.com/threads/what-is-it-old-or-new-possibly-african-baul-figure.19901/
So personally, I would never say "there are no fakes of XYZ; it would not be profitable" though I might say "I have not seen any fakes of that item."
Just stating my jaded and skeptical opinion that there is no limit whatsoever to fakery or reproductions.

I checked it with a reputable clock maker/collector who knows his stuff. His ancestors were already making these clocks in the 18th century. He is in his 80s now, his eyesight is failing, but he does keep up to date.
The collector groups don't know of any Indonesian fakes either.

That it is a good way to phrase it.
I was just stating a general opinion; not a comment on this particular clock.
But I personally am more likely to find fakes, than to find a field where there are none. Thus my ID, one which I began using many years ago on the ebay boards.
