    Which war?
    :)
    And I meant in factory work. With the introduction of stick welding then MIG and TIG I wouldn't think any factory process would have used gas welding a loooooooong time ago now. :)

    Hm, that doesn't really seem to be "decent" when they paid 1500 DM (by now at least the same in Euro) thirty years ago.

    £300-£500 to me is decent money.
    I didn't know more was paid originally.

    @Julian Who

    Julian I see the bulbs are Bayonet cap type fittings , are these still available , I thought the standard was screw type in Germany ?
    This might give some idea to age.
    I know bayonet bulbs are not available in Switzerland.

    I think this is original and it has not been rewired.

    Some things don't go up in line with inflation. DM was about three to the pound back then, so five hundred pounds equivalent.

    True, but I would expect an object like this to rise in value rather than to decline. If you have a look at the price-development in Germany you see that the average product price is the same more than at DM-times, but one DM was half a Euro original.

    @daveydempsey You´re right, those bulbs are uncommon. But my mother says they are still available

    Sorry, sure it is! But in relation to the price those days it seemed rather little

    Hey guys,

    just wanted to let you know I made some progress on the lamp: Its an original from the manufacturer Petitot, selling for around 1.800 € at the moment. Price could be even higher, but Art Deco doesn't seem to be overly demanded right now, at least in Germany.

    Appreciate your help on the topic :)
